Microneedling for Collagen Induction Therapy, Pigmentation and Scarring
What is Microneedling?
Microneedling is a procedure that combines a state-of-the-art medical grade micro-needling device with a topical skin care regime. Microneedling is an electrical device used to infuse moisture, vitamins and antioxidants to your skin while stimulating cell proliferation and stimulating the formation of new collagen. This minimally invasive procedure is clinically proven to reduce the look of scars and stretch marks, minimize wrinkles, improve the quality and texture of your skin and treat acne as well as cystic acne.
How does the procedure work?
Before your procedure begins, a topical numbing cream is applied to the area of your skin being treated. Then the electric microneedling pen is used to gently puncture the skin with tiny, sterile needles. This allows the skin to create channels where skin care products can be absorbed into the skin at a rate 200 times greater than traditional topical skin care and the cascade of anti-aging effects can begin.
Who is a good candidate?
This minimally invasive, non-ablative, non-surgical, cosmetic procedure is safe and effective on all skin types without the risk of discolouration.
When will I see results and when can I return to everyday activities?
Results from Collagen Induction Therapy (microneedling) can been seen immediately. Your skin will look instantly rejuvenated—but that’s only the beginning. Studies show that microneedling can improve the production of your skin’s collagen and elastin up to six months following multiple treatments. Your Monaco Skin Care Specialist will recommend a series of sessions to maximize your results.
After a procedure, your skin may be red and flushed in appearance similar to the appearance of a moderate sunburn. You may also experience skin tightness and mild sensitivity to touch. This will diminish quickly and subside within 48-72 hours.
